Affinity Health Center Announces Its Next CEO
May 30, 2025
Affinity Health Center has completed its nationwide search, and the organization’s Board of Directors selected Heather McCutcheon as the health center’s next Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors named McCutcheon as the Interim Chief Executive Officer while the organization underwent a competitive national search to identify its next CEO following the resignation of Anita Case on March 5, 2025, after nearly 20 years of executive leadership. McCutcheon has served with the organization for more than 15 years and was serving as Affinity Health Center’s Chief Operations Officer before the board named her Interim CEO.
“We are thrilled to welcome Heather as Affinity’s new CEO” says Sally Baker, Chair of the Affinity Health Center Board of Directors. “The Board and Transition Committee worked with an executive search firm to identify the very best candidates to lead Affinity into its next chapter. It was clear in the search process that Heather has the commitment, compassion, and vision to excel in this role, and we look forward to working with her in this new capacity.”
As Chief Operations Officer, McCutcheon worked closely with Case to implement strategic operations, and ensured cross-departmental collaboration and accountability while connecting staff and patients with Affinity Health Center’s mission, vision, and values. Prior to serving in executive leadership positions with Affinity, McCutcheon served as the organization’s Associate Director, the Director of Programs, the Case Management Supervisor, and as the organization’s Outreach Case Manager. Before joining Affinity Health Center, McCutcheon served as the Prevention Director for the Chester County Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse, an organization for which she would later serve as a Board Member. McCutcheon also served as Co-Chair for the Chester County Community Coalition, and a member of the Chester County Academy for Teaching and Learning School Board.
As Chief Executive Officer, McCutcheon will be responsible for ensuring mission fulfillment, quality services, sound management, organizational relevance, and sustainability. McCutcheon will also provide organizational leadership in achieving strategic goals and champion Affinity Health Center’s mission and vision for greater access to care for those in need. Upon assuming the CEO role, McCutcheon will build on Affinity’s strong foundation, enhance services with a focus on quality and efficiency, and will strategically expand the health center to meet the needs of patients and the York County community.
McCutcheon’s key initiatives will include:
• Ensuring continuity of care
• Improving health outcomes
• Expanding pediatric and behavioral health services
• Enriching the organizational experience for patients and staff
• Launching a dental residency program
• Leveraging new technologies to elevate patient outcomes
• Enhancing operational efficiency
“I am deeply honored to be selected as the next CEO of Affinity Health Center. This opportunity fills me with immense gratitude and excitement. Having been part of this incredible team for over 15 years, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and compassion that drives our mission. Together, we will build a future where quality care and innovation thrive, ensuring every patient receives the best possible service. Our commitment will create a healthier, vibrant community. I am ready to lead us into this new chapter with dedication and passion.”
Heather McCutcheon will formally begin serving as Chief Executive Officer on June 2, 2025. McCutcheon holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree, a Master of Business Administration degree with a Concentration in Strategic Leadership, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Winthrop University. McCutcheon also holds a Leadership Institute Certificate from the Southeast Addiction Technology Transfer Center, and is a recent graduate of the Johnson & Johnson/ UCLA Health Care Executive Program.
