Affinity Health Center is looking for several works by local artists. Artwork may be realistic or abstract and should be suitable as focal pieces in our new 30,000 sq. ft. facility. Artwork may be purchased by Affinity, donated by the artist, or loaned for display. Affinity is a non-profit community health center looking for positive, uplifting images to greet our patients. Artwork submitted should reflect our mission of providing high quality comprehensive care with compassion, dignity and respect.

Deadline for submissions is July 10, 2018

Guidelines: Artwork will be judged on artistic merit, originality, creativity and how well it supports the theme “compassion, dignity and respect”. Artwork can be any subject (landscapes, portraits, still lifes, etc.) as long as the theme is portrayed. A panel of judges will select pieces. Number of pieces chosen will be determined by price/budget constraints. Chosen artists must complete a purchase, donation or loan agreement with Affinity Health Center with pieces delivered by July 15, 2018.

Restrictions: All artwork must be original and must be created entirely by the artist(s).
Any artwork that depicts copyrighted images will be rejected. For example, no artworks depicting characters from television shows, movies, video games, or books.

Attach or send a link to a .jpg, .png, .gif, or .pdf image of your artwork. Include your full name, phone number, brief description of your artwork that includes medium used to create the work, dimensions, title, and purchase price. We are so excited about moving into our new home in June.  In case you have not seen the new Affinity Health Center under construction, we will be moving to 455 Lakeshore Parkway (just down the road from our current building).  We will close on June 21 and June 22 to move everything.  We will open in our new location on Monday, June 25.

We will be expanding our ability to serve you better, including a LOT more parking!

Beginning in July, we will begin having dental services available 25 hours/week with plans to have a full-time dental clinic beginning in September.

In the fall of 2018, we will be opening a pharmacy on-site, operated by Avita/MedExpress.  We are so excited to make accessing medications easier and more convenient for our patients. The pharmacy team will also be able to partner with our medical staff, case managers and YOU to assist with medication adherence or any challenges with medications.

We will have 24 exam rooms to grow into at the new facility. This will allow for us to serve you with less wait time since each doctor/nurse practitioner will have a set of three exam rooms to use.

Community health centers have been a vital part of America’s health care system since the 1960’s and have received over 50 years of bipartisan support.

Get tested, know your status. Gift card to the first 20 people tested for HIV at Affinity Health Center on February 7, 2018 during our regular testing hours between 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. This year’s event marks the 18th year for National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD), a national HIV testing and treatment community mobilization initiative targeted at Blacks in the United States and the Diaspora. NBHAAD was founded in 1999 as a national response to the growing HIV and AIDS epidemic in African American communities.

The NBHAAD initiative leverages a national platform to educate, bring awareness, and mobilize the African American community. NBHAAD has four key focus areas which encourage people to:

Get Educated about HIV and AIDS;
Get Involved in community prevention efforts;
Get Tested to know their status; and
Get Treated to receive the continuum of care needed to live with HIV/AIDS

Affinity Health Center is one step closer to providing better access to comprehensive quality healthcare in York County.
